1. The Caucasus Mountains
The Caucasus Mountain range lies in Eurasia between the Black Sea and Caspian Sea and includes the Greater Caucasus in the north and Lesser Caucasus in the south. This picture is of the Lesser Caucasus which lies in Georgia.
2. Sighnagi, The City of Love
Sighnagi is a small town located in the east of Georgia. Founded in the 17th century in the era of King Heraclius II of Georgia. With fully preserved fortresses and watchtowers, this city provides a magnificent view of the Alazan Valley from over these towers. Undergoing capital restructuring, this town is now being turned into a tourist point. It got the name ‘City of Love’ due to an infamous wedding house, where you might find couples getting married anytime of the day! A picturesque city with cobbled streets and houses with bright red tiled roofs, this city can take your breath away.
3. Stepantsminda (Formerly known as Kazbegi)
Stepantsminda, formerly known as Kazbegi, is a village in Georgia popular among tourists and visitors for its trekking opportunities amidst the visually spectacular and mighty Mount Kazbek, the serene view from the town of the Holy Trinity Church which is outlined perfectly against Mount Kazbek itself.
4. Batumi Beach
The second largest city in Georgia, Batumi is the capital of Adjara province and is also known as heaven on Earth due to its amazing attractions, including the beautiful beaches. Swimming in the Black Sea sounds great, doesn’t it? That’s what you’ll get to do if you visit Batumi. Mesmerizing and built with stones and without sand, these beaches are the best way to spend a relaxing day reclining in the sun.
5. Tbilisi
The capital and largest city of Georgia, Tbilisi lies on the Kura River. Founded in the 5th century by the monarchs of Georgia, the city is a beautiful testament of how amazing the whole country is. With its cobblestone towns and diverse architecture, the city is a witness to a number of historical events with periods under Persian and Russian rule as well. The city also is home to Narikala – a reconstructed 4th century fortress, and Kartlis Deda, the iconic statue which is also known as “Mother of Georgia”.
6. Ushghuli
Located high at the head of the Enguri gorge in Svaneti, Georgia lies Ushghuli, Europe’s highest continually inhabited settlement. Classified as a World Heritage Sight by UNESCO, this village settlement is a combination of four communities and due to its unique location, has been able to preserve its timeless feel. This destination provides an old world class to its visitors and tourists and the only sign of the outside, modern world are the electricity pilons hanging between the houses.
7. The Metekhi Church, Tbilisi
The Metekhi Church is located on a rocky outcrop above the Metekhi Bridge and is where Vakhtang Gorgasali built his palace and the site’s first church in the 5th century. This was also when he announced Tbilisi as the capital of Georgia. The church has been reconstructed many times since it was originally built by King Demetre Tavdadebuli (the self-sacrificing) between 1278 and 1289.
8. Gremi, the Royal Citadel and the Church of the Archangels in Kakheti
Above the valley of Alazan, Gremi stands gloomy and monumental and is one of the most visited tourist points in Georgia. Built in the 16th century in the times of King Levan of Kakheti, this castle and surrounding church and citadel provide a panoramic view of the valley. After the rule of their king, the castle was razed to the ground by the armies of Shah Abbas I of Persia. The landmark still bears witness to the battle and one can depict the outlines of wine cellars, remaining weapons, water pipes and other signs of the time when Gremi was at its prime.

10. The Lurji Monastery, Tbilisi
The Lurji Monastery or the “Blue Monastery” is a 12th century Georgian Orthodox church. Named after Saint Andrew in the Vere neighborhood of Tbilisi, the church stands in the center part of the city. The roof of the church is adorned with glazed blue tile, which also derived its name lurji (“blue”).
