Hello, everybody! Hope you’re having a good year end and just to make sure your excitement for new year remains high, we are here with a big news–not a news actually but it’s a reminder; a very important one (though we know that we, golf enthusiasts, don’t need it). But, for every other person who is shackled in an annoying busy routine we’re here to remind you that Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship 2016 is just around the corner! Yes, only a month to go and this time it’s even bigger infact, biggest if we compare it with all the previous championships. World class performances from world class players have allowed this tournament to earn the reputation it deserves, the jewel in the crown of Middle Eastern golf.
A throwback of last year championship
Let’s start with a bit of recap of last year championship where Frenchman Gary Stal lift the trophy in a dramatic fashion and won a first prize purse of $450,000 by capsizing an eight shot deficit against final day favorite Martin Kaymer to take an unforeseen but well deserved victory.
Number 1 is coming to regions best professional event
But this time competition is even bigger as golfing world’s current elite of world No. 1 Jordan Spieth is in his Arabian debut along with Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, Henrik Stenson and Martin Kaymer who is ready to deliver the same stunning form which left us in his wake until this year’s final day. But that’s all history now and Martin Kaymer looks determined to get his hands on a fourth Falcon Trophy.
“Abu Dhabi is very special for me. I’ve carded some of my best rounds and had some very memorable victories there, and I am determined to win another Falcon Trophy in 2016,” said Kaymer.
Apart from Kaymer, Jordan Spieth, the current Masters and US Open champion will make his Middle East debut. The American, the reigning world No. 1, is ready to head another star-spangled field that includes four of the top seven players in the global rankings.
“I am looking forward to coming to Abu Dhabi, I love to travel and see the world and I am excited to not only play in the event but also check out Abu Dhabi for the first time.” Said Jordan Spieth
Get ready for a tougher and better Abu Dhabi Golf Club
Apart from all the big name this year golf court (which is obviously same in location) but TCA Abu Dhabi along with other Championship organizers IMG and Abu Dhabi Golf Club has made a quite significant effort in expanding its golf course and by expanding we don’t mean only in size but in other aspects also which have added more value to the course and when the players will arrive they will find some newly strategically positioned bunkers and a completely new 18th tee which will give more challenging perspective to the final hole.
With Travelex it will be even better
And if all these big names don’t excites you, we don’t know what will! If you’re still figuring out what to do and got no idea from where to start, don’t worry. We have already created a full tournament and final round package for golf enthusiasts like us, to make sure that you get the best golfing experience.

Wow! What a finish.
Rickie hung in there under tremendous pressure. After the double bogey on the 7th I thought he’ll fold but rising to the challenge he holed out from the bunker for eagle on the next hole par 5 8th.
Is he going to Doha?
