Rani Pokhari is also known as Queen’s Pond. This historic pond is located in central Kathmandu. Rani Pokhari was built by King Pratap Malla in 17th century to console his wife after his son’s death. He collected water from different holy places to sanctify the pond. Rani Pokhari is one of the famous landmarks known for its religious and aesthetic significance. There is a temple in the middle of the pond which opens only once in the year.
Pashupatinath Temple:
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It was built in 5th century and is considered as a masterpiece of Hindu architecture. It has four doors covered with Silver sheets. There are wooden sculptures in the temple and it is believed that they make your wishes come true.
Swayambhunath Temple:
It’s also called the Monkey temple because of the hundreds of monkeys that guard the Swayambhunath temple. This historical temple was constructed in the 5th century. It’s a true example of perfect art. You will have to climb 365 stairs to reach the top, but there is also a car facility if you can’t climb stairs.
